Louisville-based Confluent Health has appointed several key leaders to new executive positions.

John Doyle has been named the company’s chief financial officer, a move Confluent said in made in response to recent growth, according to a news release. With the appointment, former CFO John Thompson will remain with Confluent as its chief administrative officer (CAO), a new role for the company.

In the CAO role, Thompson will lead Confluent’s managed support teams, including human resources, recruitment, information technology, real estate and risk management; and the project management office on behalf of the company’s 44 private practice physical and occupational therapy partner companies, higher education company, Evidence in Motion, occupational health company, Fit For Work, national Independent Provider Association PTPN and Confluent Innovations LLC.

Meanwhile, Doyle, who has more than 30 years of experience in the health care and finance spaces, will continue Confluent’s mission of innovating the future of health care, the release continued.

Doyle was most recently with Steward Health Care Systems as its CFO. He held executive leadership positions at IASIS Healthcare Corp. as chief financial officer, chief accounting officer and treasurer and senior manager positions at Ernst & Young where he specialized in health care audit and business advisory services.

Doyle will be based in Louisville, assuming the role on June 15.

“It is a privilege to be part of an innovative organization with a relentless commitment to positive, demonstrated industry disruption,” Doyle said in the release. “I am excited to join at a time of explosive growth for the company, our partners, and employees. I look forward to working with the Confluent Health family on our continued financial and operational transformation.”

Confluent also announced a new leader for its new Confluent Health Innovations LLC. Brooks Newman will become president of the limited liability company, as well as Confluent’s chief strategy and innovation officer.

Confluent Health Innovations LLC will now be called the Innovation Center. It includes a portfolio of value-based programs, venture capital investments, digital experiences and emerging products and services, the release states.

Newman previously served as Confluent’s chief legal and compliance officer and corporate secretary where he was a member of the executive leadership team and a principal advisor on corporate strategy and innovation, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, private equity partnership and corporate finance.

Brooks previously worked at Humana as senior vice president, deputy general counsel and corporate secretary. Prior to this, he was an attorney in Chicago representing various health care companies.

This is a newly created position, and Confluent has not named anyone to fill the chief legal and compliance officer role at this time.

“The Innovation Center was founded with a clear purpose and vision of building future healthcare models that meet people where they are,” Newman said in the release. “It is a privilege to be part of an organization that is committed to investing in the evolution of the healthcare industry, bringing game-changing solutions closer to our partners, patients, and providers.”

Also this week, Pradeep Khandelwal was named CEO of Confluent’s Evidence in Motion (EIM), a health care education provider.

This appointment allows Dr. John Childs, founder of EIM, to take on a leadership role focused on shaping the company’s strategy, driving its growth, and overseeing key strategic relationships, a news release on the appointment reads.

“I am honored to be stepping in as Evidence In Motion’s next CEO. It is a privilege to be joining an organization that is an innovator in the delivery of healthcare and leader in preparing the next generation of clinicians into tomorrow’s multidisciplinary leaders,” Khandelwal said in the release.

“EIM was founded with a clear purpose and vision, which is to disrupt and innovate health care education in the name of accessibility, quality, and humanizing patient care. I am committed to the ongoing evolution of the industry, and to realizing the EIM vision and doing so with passion.”

Prior to this role, Khandelwal was EVP at Ministry Brands. He also spent time at Elsevier overseeing one of their largest and fastest-growing digital education businesses and 15 years at Deloitte Consulting delivering complex transformation and growth initiatives for Fortune 500 companies, the release states.

EIM is based in San Antonio, Texas, and his appointment is effective immediately.

After a flurry of acquisitions over the past year, Confluent now has outpatient physical and occupational therapy clinics across 29 states. It includes 44 companies and more than 500 clinics. Confluent provides back-office services for physical therapy offices, including finance, compliance, payroll and the like. It refers to its acquisitions as “partnerships,” because the physical therapy practices maintain their name and a share of ownership.

The company, which employs more than 120 people in Louisville, is expanding its local presence. It announced earlier this year that it was moving its headquarters to accommodate growth. It will be adding 350 full time jobs with a $10 million investment.
